In anticipation of its 60th-anniversary celebrations, Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital has taken a proactive step in promoting community health by organizing a free health screening at Kotokraba, Cape Coast. The event, held under the theme “Mental Health, Total Health”, underscores the hospital’s commitment to public health and mental well-being.
The health screening, which took place on Monday, March 1st, 2025, provided residents of Kotokraba and its surrounding communities with essential medical check-ups, including blood pressure monitoring, blood sugar testing, BMI assessment, mental health education, and general consultations. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about common health issues and encourage early detection and prevention as part of the hospital’s anniversary activities.
Medical professionals, including doctors, nurses, and mental health specialists from Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital, were on-site to offer expert advice and assist individuals in need of further medical attention. Hundreds of community members took advantage of this opportunity to receive free and professional healthcare services.
The event also featured educational sessions on mental health, stressing the significance of seeking professional care for mental well-being. Many attendees gained insight into common mental health conditions and the treatment options available at Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital.
